This 95-year-old woman carries on her skin the weight of her long life, and her wrinkles form the grooves of an old record, each line storing a vast ocean of rare information thanks to her extraordinary memory. Always curious about the flow of time around her and the twists and turns of the world, she listens to her radio at fixed hours and comments on the news with remarkable liveliness. She is the living memory of our family, the invisible thread connecting past and present. When I photograph her, I feel as if I am capturing these grooves and extending, through the image, the trace of her presence and knowledge, as if time itself were being deposited onto the film. This photograph was taken with a Nikon F100 and Ilford Delta 400 ISO film.
