This series tells the story of work in two voices: the quiet labor of the individual, and the proud force of the collective. Alone, we endure — bent over our tools, our thoughts, our survival. Together, we rise — sharing the load, the song, the fire, and the future.

These images were made in Dakar in 2022, during a journey shared with one of my daughters, while she was engaged in humanitarian work. Being there, my intention was not only to observe, but to connect — to listen, to meet, and to understand through human presence.

Between solitude and unity, effort and pride, this series became a reflection on how communities are shaped — by hands that work alone, and by those that come together.
