In the series Magnetic Walk, I explore the technique of photomontage using black-and-white analog photographs taken during my many travels. I assemble unlikely visual elements, playing with scale and optical perception to create a strange visual narrative.
Settings, details, and characters undergo transformations: faces become unrecognizable, silhouettes sometimes appear ghostly. This work awakens a poetic reflection, leaving room for a succession of unresolved mysteries.
Influenced by the science fiction cinema of a certain era and by the surrealist movement—particularly in their philosophical relationship to the perception of reality—I seek, through my compositions, to reveal visual dissonances that take on a poetic dimension and question our relationship to reality and its illusory nature.
Magnetic Walk unfolds a mysterious tale in which illusion and surrealism activate a collective imagination. Each image creates an enigmatic atmosphere, where landscapes drift by and open up new spaces conducive to daydreaming about a world with a strange magnetism.
This encounter with simulacrum allows me to create a universe where reality and the surreal become almost indistinguishable.
