Médaille d'or dans la catégorie « Urban / Urbex »

The pictures are taken in Mombello former asylum that was structured like a small city that could host up to 3.000 patients. After 1978 Basaglia law all the asylums in Italy were banned and the structure was left abandoned so it became a venue for writers and street artists, in the meanwhile the nature is taking the place with branches stepping into the rooms through broken windows. It's interesting the contrast between the abandoned structure and the ever-changing writings on its walls that attract urbex lovers and photographers.
