Timeless - @pajphoto
Documenting the annual rice planting, harvesting and threshing cycle in Bhoi, Meghalaya in Northeast India, I captured this image of two women winnowing the rice grains from the chaff. It is titled “Timeless” because it could have been taken a thousand years ago. There is nothing in the picture to give away what century this is - no plastics, no watches, no eyeglasses. Just simple cloth, woven baskets and a method used since harvested grains first needed separating from their dried husks. 2013. Canon 5D Mk I.
