A West Side Boy - @joshuacoe
Mark was shot in the head at the age of 18 by a 9mm bullet. He was caught in the line of fire from one of his homies in a shootout. It was a tragedy as a portion of his brain was left permanently damaged, yet he lived to tell the story.
He had spent a large portion of his youth in jail. He was raised in the barrio known as Hollywood, off of 39th ave, on the west side of Phoenix. He had a son at 21, and raised him as well, even with his brain damage. Today he still lives in the neighborhood that he grew up in. Many from his generation are either dead or in prison, or moved onto another chapter of life. Beauty is still seen amidst the brokenness.
