This is a portrait of my friend and master drummer Ismael Seck from Senegal.
He came to Germany over 20 years ago, where he has lived ever since and works as a percussionist.
His way of playing the drum has such an indescribable dignity, as he comes from a special family, the ‘Griot’, who were the only ones in West Africa who had the right to convey messages with their drums.
