"Like in a Mirror" is a photographic project that began during a visit to the "Short Stories" exhibition by the Italian artist Paolo Ventura.

While exploring his works, I was struck by the behavior of a couple of tourists who, observing the art pieces, seemed almost to "interpret" the same positions and expressions of the characters captured by Ventura.

All the shots are candid, and the subjects were completely unaware they were being photographed. Yet, in some photos, the boundary between the real subject and the "fictional" one becomes so subtle that it is almost impossible to distinguish one from the other.

The project thus explores the mirror game between the audience and the artwork, where reality and fiction blend, and the distance between the tangible and the imaginary becomes invisible.

I want to invite the viewer to reflect on our perception of beauty and how art can sometimes turn into a mirror that reflects an idealized or ironic version of ourselves.
