More than one-third of the population (8.2 million) is mobile population. Countless people come to Beijing every day, and countless people leave Beijing every day. These people are called Beijing drifter. Today, more and more Beijing drifter feel lonely in such a huge city. The topic "Loneliness" has been played more than 6.1 billion times on TikTok. As a photographer, I walk in the streets and alleys at night and take pictures of lonely Beijing drifter. Some of them are happy, some are drunk, some are confused, some are helpless, some are still looking for jobs, and some are still looking for a place to live. They work hard in this city with dreams during the day, and return to their loneliness at night. Eventually, some people got married, had children, and settled down here, while others eventually left the city.
